Is there anyone there...
A group of women came together in Wexford , Ireland 1871 at the invitation of Bishop Thomas Furlong, Bishop of Ferns Diocese. The group's vision was to live and witness to the faith- view of life and to continue the mission of God's care and compassion for all people.
These women, led by Bridget Clancy, founded the Congregation of St. John of God.
From those small beginnings have grown many communities all over the world that combine the faith-view of life with services for people in need.
Over the years Sisters of St John of God have pioneered new ministries and have continued to reach out to groups not previously served. We respond to today's needs by our involvement in the areas of Healthcare, Education and other Pastoral Ministries in Ireland, England, Pakistan, South Africa and Australia.
