ALTAR BREAD MAKING

The Altar Bread Department is a purpose built unit located in the grounds of our Kilkenny Convent. This project provides altar breads for most of the parishes in the Diocese of Ossory and beyond.

A Sister and a staff of three coordinate this unit. They in turn are greatly assisted by our senior Sisters who sort the breads and help in a variety of ways. The retired Sisters love to be involved in this ministry as it connects them to the wider church.
